State Treasurer Godlewski Attends UW System’s America Saves Week Event

America Saves Week (held February 24-28, 2020) is a national campaign encouraging individuals to save money and build personal wealth. For the past five years, UW System has worked with financial companies and institutions to hold free on-site workshops and individual counseling sessions for UW employees statewide.
On February 25, UW System had the honor of welcoming State Treasurer Sarah Godlewski to the “Women and Retirement” workshop at UW-Extension Research Park. As chair of the Wisconsin Retirement Task Force, she spoke to attendees about her focus on finding retirement security solutions for Wisconsin residents.
She also asked attendees why they chose to attend the workshop, opening an honest and insightful dialogue. Reasons participants shared for attending included:
Across the UW System, America Saves Week 2020 included 23 on-site workshops, 11 days of individual counseling sessions, 6 days of credit check-ups, and 15 webinars.
UW System thanks this year’s 450 participants for their participation and ongoing feedback making a successful America Saves Week possible.
